Short answer: brush off loose dirt, wash with water and mild soap or with the Maintenance Kit, and let the bag dry completely, inside and out. Only fold it once it is bone dry, and store the top and base together in the Storage Bag (sold separately) until next season.

A bag that is folded while damp can get mould and smell over the summer. Ten minutes of care in spring means it is ready to use when autumn comes.

How to clean Bag'in

  1. Brush off leaves and dirt with a soft brush, on both the top cover and the base.
  2. Rinse with a garden hose on low pressure.
  3. Wash off stains with water, mild soap and a soft sponge. The Maintenance Kit has a cleaner, cloth and sponge made for Bag'in.
  4. Rinse off soap residue thoroughly.
  5. Renew the water repellency with the protective treatment in the Maintenance Kit, on clean, dry fabric. It is a good idea to do this once a season.
  6. Clean the zip. Brush sand and dirt out of the teeth, so it runs smoothly next time.

Dry everything completely

Hang or spread the bag out in dry weather until it is completely dry, including the seams and corners. Turn it so the inside dries too. Never fold it while damp.

Check for small damage

  • Small holes and tears: repair them with Tear-Aid, a clear, waterproof patch that goes on without tools or glue.
  • Drawstrings and carabiner: check that they are intact and work.
  • Storm Anchor straps: if you need new ones, Storm Anchor Straps come in a set of four. X-Large has six attachment points and needs six straps.

How to store Bag'in

  1. Fold the top cover and the base separately, loosely.
  2. Put both in the Storage Bag (sold separately). It holds the top and base for every size from Small to X-Large.
  3. Tighten the drawstring and store the bag somewhere dry, off the floor.

Storm Anchor can stay in the deck all year and be used to hold other things in place in summer.
