Short answer: put Bag'in on a firm, ventilated surface, ideally a wooden deck, at least 20 cm from walls and fences. Choose a spot sheltered from the wind, away from the roof edge and trees with dead branches, and where water drains away.

Where you place it decides a lot about how the furniture gets through winter. The right spot means less condensation, less wind pressure and no snow sliding off the roof.

Checklist for the right spot

What Recommendation Why
Surface Firm and ventilated, ideally a wooden deck Air reaches the base, and Storm Anchor can be fitted
Distance to wall and fence At least 20 cm Air circulates, and the cover does not rub
Wind Sheltered by the house wall Less pull on the bag and the anchors
Roof Not right under the roof edge Snow and ice from the roof can weigh several hundred kilos
Trees Not under dead branches Falling branches can damage the cover
Water Not in a dip Water that collects means damp under the base
Snow clearing Away from where snow is shovelled or ploughed The snow pile should not end up on the furniture

Why the surface matters so much

Bag'in Nordic has a ventilated base and vents in the corners, so moisture can escape. It works best when air can reach under the base. A wooden deck gives exactly that. Never put the bag straight on grass or soil, where moisture from the ground rises up.

Deck, balcony or raised terrace

Once you have chosen the spot

Lay the base flat, stack the furniture tight and low, and zip it up. See every step in how to pack garden furniture in Bag'in and the owner's guide to Bag'in Nordic and SunGuard.

Frequently asked questions

Can Bag'in stand on the lawn?

We recommend a firm, ventilated surface, such as a wooden deck. Moisture from grass and soil rises up under the base.

How close to the wall can the bag stand?

At least 20 cm from walls and fences.

Where is there least wind?

Usually in the shelter of the house wall, on the side facing away from where bad weather usually comes from.

Can the bag stand under the roof overhang?

Not right under the roof edge, where snow and ice can slide down.
