1. Choose a suitable outdoor area
Pick a sunny, dry day to ensure the outdoor furniture is completely dry before storing. Place the furniture in a suitable outdoor spot, preferably on a wooden deck or stone slabs. Avoid placing the solution on grass or soil, and don't place it directly under a roof that could be exposed to snow slides during winter.
We recommend using terrace flooring as a base for the bag, as it provides good ventilation through a ventilated bottom. A common problem with tiles and stone is they're not always completely level, which can lead to water collecting under the bag, especially at the lowest points. If you choose tiles or stone as a base, it's important to ensure sufficient slope for drainage. Additionally, it can be a good idea to place treated boards under the bag to ensure adequate ventilation and prevent moisture problems.
2. Lay out the Bag'in bottom first
Start by laying out the bottom part first, then place the largest furniture. If you have a tabletop, make sure it's not directly against the ground. Furniture placed on the bottom should stand on its legs to ensure stability and prevent damage.
3. Stack outdoor furniture smart and stable to maximize space
To maximize space, it's important to stack outdoor furniture smartly by trying different combinations. Start with the largest and most stable furniture as a base, then build upward with smaller furniture. Make sure everything stands firmly to avoid anything tipping over. Any glass sheets should be placed between furniture and wrapped in a blanket or similar for extra protection against damage.
4. Build a peak to prevent water collection
To build a peak that prevents water collection, you can use a pot, flower basket, or stool on top of the stacked furniture. This creates a natural slope so rainwater runs off. We also recommend removing snow regularly during winter, especially if a lot collects on top. This will prevent the weight of snow from damaging the outdoor furniture inside the solution.
5. Watch out for sharp edges
It can be an advantage to have two people when putting on the top part to ensure it's placed correctly and avoid damage to furniture or the protective material. Be careful to protect sharp edges to prevent them from damaging Bag'in's fabric. A good tip is to put a sock over sharp table legs or similar edges for extra protection. This helps keep both furniture and cover intact.
6. Connect with a robust zipper
Make sure the red arrow on the top part matches the red arrow on the bottom part before connecting the parts with the zipper. To make it easier to close the zipper, you can lift the protective edge slightly. This will help you get the zipper in place without problems.
7. Ensure ventilation hatches are free and not blocked for adequate airflow
Make sure the air vents in each corner hang freely and aren't blocked, so sufficient air gets in. This is important to ensure optimal airflow. Also make sure the air vents don't hang too low toward the ground. Fill the bag with enough outdoor furniture to keep the air vents elevated, so they can let in enough air and prevent moisture problems.
8. Safe atorage during autumn and winter
Now the solution is ready, and your outdoor furniture is safely stored in just a few minutes. The air channels ensure good airflow, while the fastening straps can be used to secure our patented safety anchor, STORM ANCHOR, which prevents Bag'in from blowing away in strong wind or storms, especially if you have light outdoor furniture.
9. Storage of outdoor cushions
We recommend not storing cushions in your Bag'in, since some condensation always occurs inside Bag'in – with the Nordic climate, this is unavoidable.
If you still choose to leave cushions in Bag'in, we have the following advice:
- Cushions shouldn't be in contact with Bag'in's interior
- Cushions shouldn't lie directly on the bottom
- Waterproof the cushions with a suitable product
- Make sure the cushions can handle being outdoors
- Note that Bag'in's warranty doesn't cover what you store in the bag, meaning furniture, cushions, rugs, and other items.
